Mr. Lester D. Campbell of Nashville, IL, departed this life at the Aviston Countryside Manor in Aviston, IL on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at 11:30 P.M. He had attained the age of 93 years, 9 months and 29 days.
Mr. Campbell was born on April 26, 1931, in Oakdale, IL, the son of William A. and Bertha A. (nee Magerkurth) Campbell. He was united in marriage to Louise E. Campbell on December 24, 1952, in Escatawpa, MS and she preceded him in death on April 10, 2020.
Lester proudly served with the United States Air Force, where he was a Radio Operator on a B-29 Bomber for 4 years. He was the owner and operator of Nashville Memorial Company and Campbell Paint Store, both in Nashville, IL, for over 50 years. He served on the Washington County Board for 28 years, was the Nashville Township Supervisor for 51 years, and was a member of the Masonic Lodge for 50 years.
