Talitha Martha Beckman Evans passed away peacefully at Friendship Manor in Nashville, Illinois where she was in hospice care after reaching her 101st birthday just two weeks prior. She was born in Cordes, Illinois on the farm of her parents Fredrick and Martha Beckman (nee Decker) where she attended the nearby Kerr School before graduating from Nashville High School. She then moved to Carmi to work as a bookkeeper for the local Ford car dealership and it was there that she met her husband Charles T. Evans. Upon their marriage in 1944, they moved to Nashville, where they have resided ever since, most recently on West Saint Louis Street.
She worked with her husband in the oil producing business as a bookkeeper and leasing agent and was a member of the Illinois Oil and Gas Association. She was also a member of the St. Paul United Church of Christ and was president of the Nashville Women's Club.
Talitha was an avid bridge player and remained an active golfer well into her later years and
